at first it wasn't smooth
Manet thought someone had taken
his name to be misunderstood
when the confusion ended
they wound up as good friends
in those artistic circles of Paris
through dire political events
Monet was honored to be the one
to start this new artistic trend
was the first “impressionist”
a movement with good ends
title was taken from
a painting Monet had done
“Impression: Sunrise” took to be
in the style “impressionism”
no written form created
no rules clarified
no alabaster statue of
how it's done and why
yet, a movement it became
to add style to the palate
causing many to adopt
this force of free style habit
to achieve a real time look
with light and dark and such
used colors bolder that had been
done on the earlier works of art
they hid their older talents
and brought new techniques to fore
left the world a better place
with new life and much much more
